The disciples of Jayapataka Swami and Bureau of ISKCON Mumbai joined hands to make farcical show of invite for peace talks in the ongoing legal battle between ISKCON Bangalore and ISKCON Mumbai. The whole city of Bangalore was celebrating the festival of Ganesha, demigod and the devotee of Lord Narasimha, who is incharge of removing obstacles on the path of one’s progress, but it seemed that the bureau and Jayapataka Swami’s disciples were determined to put as many obstacles on the path of peace between the two ISKCON centers. It was ironic, that bureau met on Ganesha Chaturthi day a day meant for removing obstacles but only did the opposite increased the obstacles on the path of peace.
Bureau headed by Gopala Krishna Goswami conducted a press conference making show bottle presentation to the media saying that they want peace and had called Sri Madhu Pandit Dasa to attend their meeting. But as a matter of fact they had not even sent an invitation to Madhu Pandit Dasa to attend the meeting. Peace is possible if both parties sit together and discuss each other’s demands and arrive at a common point. ISKCON Bangalore had sent a written peace proposal (http://iskcontimes.com/peace-proposal) long back on Feb 4 2009, which was categorically rejected (http://iskcontimes.com/answer-to-Madhu-Pandit-Prabhu) by ISKCON GBC.
On one hand the GBC wants to maintain a front that they are interested in resolving the issues, which they are projecting to the media and general masses, but on the other hand the whole GBC body is hell bent on ensuring that no peace proposal from ISKCON Bangalore is accepted.
This duplicitous behaivour of the GBC is evident from their various actions.
The GBC is adamant at not rescinding the rtvik ban resolution given below: The Posthumous Rtvik Doctrine The doctrine that Srila Prabhupada continues to initiate direct diksa disciples after his departure
from this world thro’ officiating priests (rtviks) is a dangerous philosophical deviation. It is totally prohibited in ISKCON. No devotee shall participate in such posthumous rtvik initiation ceremonies in any capacity including acting as rtvik, initiate, assistant, organizer or financier. No ISKCON devotee shall advocate or support its practice.” (ISKCON Law 6.4.7.2) Rescinding this resolution is the first and foremost demand of any Prabhupadanuga who wishes to take shelter of Prabhupada as the guru and execute devotional service within ISKCON. The GBC is acting just like Duryodhana who was not interested to give even an inch of land to the Pandavas.
Apart from passing this resolution the GBC allows all kinds of attacks to happen on Prabhupadanugas in the world over and in ISKCON Bangalore Yatra specifically. The GBC does not make any effort to stop Jayapataka Swami and his henchmen from disturbing the massive preaching program of ISKCON Bangalore. Even to this day Varada Krishna and Doyarama are always bad mouthing the sincere efforts of Madhu Pandit Dasa and other devotees of ISKCON Bangalore. Jayapataka Swami has given a special blessing to those who trouble ISKCON Bangalore Yatra. All his disciples are busy in creating confusion and grabbing donations and deriding one of the best run temples of Srila Prabhupada.
How can all this go on without expressed or unexpressed sanction of the GBC? Apart from this the GBC does not give any concrete proposal in writing to ISKCON Bangalore as to what is their proposal for peace is and how they will implement it. How can one trust the words of those who have shown time and again that they are expert at breaking their promises? All these acts of the GBC create an atmosphere non-conducive for peace.
Latest episode of GBC going to the media and falsely alleging ISKCON Bangalore that it is not accepting the invitation for peace talks is in no way helping in building trust. This dirty trick of the GBC further reinforces their already gotten ill fame that they are for politics. When will GBC act to regain the trust of devotees?
