This article is in response to Dayalu Nitai Dasa, President of Jaipur Hare Krishna Community (HKC). I shall for brevity refer to Hare Krishna Community as HKC and Dayalu Nitai Dasa as DND.
I am ardent supporter of Akshaya Patra Jaipur and Hare Krishna Movement Jaipur and am abreast with many of the happenings around Jaipur yatra. I am writing this article in defence of HKM Jaipur devotees who are trying their best to sincerely serve the mission of Srila Prabhupada in Jaipur. I shall refer to Akshaya Patra as AP and Hare Krishna Movement as HKM for the sake of brevity.
DND in his article states: “: Your Akshaya Patra devotees are engaged in false and malicious propaganda against the devotees of the Hare Krishna Community Jaipur. You have to stop this.” This is a total misrepresentation, AP or HKM devotees are not involved in malicious propaganda against HKC. Please show one Facebook post or one article anywhere in the web as proof.
HKM devotees are not against your preaching in Jaipur neither are they interested in any such propaganda, they are all too busy with their services. What you claim to be malicious propaganda is just stating of facts that HKC is not under HKM or AP and neither is it affiliated to AP or HKM, it is an independent society run by DND. They have stated this to donors who were confused after donating to HKC thinking that HKC and HKM or AP are same. One of your devotees even went to the extent of misleading a donor that HKC was involved in feeding mid- day meals to children in Jaipur. HKM and AP should clarify to the donors or even the Folk or devotees that HKC and HKM are two distinct entities. How can stating this fact be termed “malicious bad propaganda”? It can be termed as malicious if you are indulging in your own misrepresentation that HKC and HKM and AP are from the same organization. Donors will be bound to get confused when they see two organisations with similar names and devotees with similar dress. They are bound to ask clarifications on which organization they are donating to.
Are all HKC devotees stating to all donors and devotees that HKM and HKC are different? Are
they not keeping mum on this issue in front of the donors so as to clandestinely and unethically take advantage of similar name and collect funds and support from various quarters and actually cheating people.
DND in his article states: “Since you are antagonistic against Srila Prabhupada’s Ritvik temple in Jaipur we will be forced to believe that you and your AP has nothing to do with Srila Prabhupada’s real mission. Your so-called fighting for the RITVIK CAUSE is nothing but a farce” Please do not paint a distorted picture that HKM and AP devotees are against any Ritvik temple, they are all mature enough to understand that any devotee serving Srila Prabhupada is indeed to be respected and that one should not fight with such devotees. Also HKM devotees need not take a certificate from a person like you who is biased and prejudiced against them as to how sincere they are in serving the mission of Prabhupada. Please stop taking this holier than thou attitude that you can judge others sincerity in serving Srila Prabhupada’s mission. Infact it is this attitude that is making you not see the faults committed by your group of devotees for the ongoing standoff. If you climb down from that then co—operation will ensue.
DND in his article states: If you care to hear other devotees who are not part of your group then we can also discuss about so many visible deviations in the working of IB group of temples from the teachings of Srila Prabhupada. If you still do not respond then for everyone’s benefit we will bring out all these deviations from Srila Prabhupada’s teachings with strong proofs and evidences in our next article.
Chanchalapati Prabhu and Madhu Pandit Prabhu and other HKM devotees are open to hear constructive criticism from any one, they are not afraid of being questioned and held to following Srila Prabhupada’s instructions. They are not perfect but they are sincere in their services and are open to any reform, but in line with Srila Prabhupada’s teachings.
You are stating that you will write articles after articles on their so-called deviations, is this not a blatant attempt of arm twisting? You say you want to co-operate and in the same breath you state you will write articles about HKM’s so called deviations, how can co-operation and attack go together? Please be little more sensible. These threats and attacks will expose your true intention. Any sane mane will be able to see that you and your group nourishes deep sense of bias and prejudice against HKM and AP devotees and that you have no work to do but just criticise others. Please understand threats and attacks do not lead co-operation but to conflict.
DND in his article states: At present there are 23 full time dedicated brahamcaris (mostly from reputed Engg. and Mgmt. colleges), 3 full time dedicated grihasthas, one brahamcari preparing for sannyasa, 15 gurukul students, 100 cows in our go-shala, 100 bigha land where development of “Hare Krishna Village” is going on in full swing.
You have been preaching in Jaipur since 2000 so Krishna has blessed you with some results but this does not mean that it will give you an open authority to criticize the services of HKM and AP which is carrying on with its preaching in line with Srila Prabhupada. They have also been blessed by Srila Prabhupada- they are feeding over 1.5 lacs children everyday through TAPF; they are building a very nice temple in Jagatpura and have a very good reputation in Jaipur.
They have more than 50 brahmacaries serving their temple, mostly drawn from prestigious institutions and many more are in line wanting to join the movement and dedicate their lives for Srila Prabhupada’s mission.
Also why are you hiding facts about the 100 bigha land of Hare Krishna Village? Many people in Jaipur are aware of the fiasco around this. Initially a donor wanted to develop a 1000 acres township and was very devoted and wished to give you 100 acres (10% of total area), later due to unforeseen circumstances he was allowed to develop only 350 acres township. Donor was very nice he said I cannot give you 100 acres but will give you 35 acres (10% of the overall area). But you and your group of devotees were so fanatic that they staged dharna in front of this donor’s premises for reducing the donation from 100 acres to 35 acres. You even said that the donor was committing Vaishnava aparadh for reducing the donation from 100 to 35 acres.
Your immature handling of the situation irritated the donor and he said he will not give any donation. Later on you begged and finally he has now agreed to give you 8 acres of land for Hare Krishna Village. Why are you hiding the fact that you have only 8 acres now, not the initially promised100 bighas for the project?
I have no problems in you developing the land and doing services whether be it in 8 or 100 or 1000 acres, if Krishna gives you the strength do the needful but do not mislead people, also please be little more mature in applying Srila Prabhupada’s teachings, do not bring bad name to Prabhupada by your fanatic and blind interpretations.
DND in his article states: Unfortunately AP devotees have been acting duplicity by telling us that you do your preaching and we are doing our preaching but behind our back continuing to propagate above mentioned malicious things. In spite of all this there has not been a single incident wherein I, any of our full time devotees or even hostel boys have spoken anything against AP AP and HKM devotees have not been duplicitous they have always maintained that HKC and HKM are independent societies, whereas HKM is under a GBC HKC is under a TP. AP is taken care of by HKM full time missionaries. We have many donors who had donated to HKC under the false impression that AP is HKC’s program. They sought clarification from AP about it and were upset when they were informed that HKC is not doing the AP programme at all. By clarifying how are we doing malicious propaganda? We are just undoing the misrepresentation created by HKC devotees. In addition why are you misleading the readers that HKC devotees have not been involved in any malicious propaganda against HKM? HKC devotees have been maligning the HKM centre from quite some time. They have been spreading all kinds of false rumours that AP devotees are after money, they are very rude, they caused the suicide of a devotee due their rude behaviour, brahmacaries in HKM are impure etc. etc. HKC devotees like Ashish, etc. have not spared any opportunity to malign the devotees of HKM and AP, on Facebook. They have stooped very low by unnecessarily spreading rumors about HKM devotees. Please step down from this holier than thou attitude, and come to reality about yourself and your group of devotees. Do not live in ivory tower.
DND in his article further states: “…I would like to bring to your notice that the conflicts have started increasing and if you do not take some action it will have an increasing negative effect on Srila Prabhupada’s preaching mission in Rajasthan and will drive away many sincere souls from the lotus feet of Srila
Prabhupada. “ Dayalu Nitai Prabhu, please do not brush under the carpet the fact that for the conflict to escalate you and your HKC devotees are equally responsible. Don’t put the blame entirely on HKM and TAPF. Why did you open the centre in Sitapura which is just 3kms from Jagatpura when you could as well have opened the centre in another part of the city? Infact the first salvo of dissent and fight was fired by you. You have located your HKC centre very close to HKM centre. Are you willing to solve this problem and shift to some other place in Jaipur given that HKM land in Jagatpura was bought much before you came to Sitapura? General mass of people will get confused when we conduct festivals like Janmastami it will create more problems for public perception about the organization and Srila Prabhupada, it will send wrong signals to the people. You have been speaking so much about co-operation, can you make this simple adjustment that you go to another part of the city given that yours is a rented place? How about you taking the first step in solving this problem?
I am not one to speak about what you should do or what HKM should do. But all that I can state here is that you and HKC devotees cannot escape the responsibility of having spoiled Srila Prabhupada’s mission Jaipur because of your continued bias, prejudice and one-upmanship mind-set against AP and HKM devotees.
